Responsibilities:
Prepares and cooks meals for residents/employees of the facility by performing the following duties.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper food preparation including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.
Prepares and serves food in quantities according to menu, number of people to be served, and portion control.
Demonstrates knowledge and assures maintenance of modified diets as instructed.
Uses accepted techniques in handling, preparation and serving food to clients and employees.
Receives, inspects and properly stores all supplies entering Food Service Department.
Demonstrates proper use and storage of equipment and maintains a clean environment, including utensils, appliances, floors, equipment, etc.
Maintains a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, including the use of Standard Precautions, proper storage, and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area. Also demonstrates knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.
Provides positive, professional role modeling and always maintains appropriate boundaries with clients.
Carries out trash on a daily basis
Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior experience in a residential dietary setting preferred.
